April 12, 2013
We were fortunate to host Dr. Cheehyung Kim, Duke University ACLS fellow in the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, as a guest speaker on April 12, 2013. In his talk titled, "North Korea, War Making and the International Community", Dr. Kim gave an insightful discussion about the current events and situation surrounding North Korea in a historical and global context. He addressed issues of the nuclear program, refugees and power transfer and the fundamental questions of our perspectives of North Korea as a place and people.
Thanks to all the Georgia Tech students that came out to the event. We had a full house with over sixty students in attendance. The Question and Answer session was great thanks to all the perceptive questions from GT students. Also, special thanks go to Professor Seok-bae Jang, our faculty advisor, who made this event possible in organizing and coordinating the event.

Voice for the Voiceless Prayer Night
March 13, 2013
The "Voice for the Voiceless" prayer night was held at 6 pm in IC 105 on March 13, 2013. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us as we lifted up the oppressed people of North Korea in our efforts to bring them comfort and hope through intercessory prayer. We hope that you will continue to pray for and speak out against the violation of human rights in North Korea.
Also, special thanks to David Kim ("DK") of Korean Campus Crusade for Christ (KCCC) in leading us in prayer as well as the members of KCCC and JCA who supported the event.

LiNK officers with Dr. Scott and Dr. Castro
LiNK members supported the first Zero TB America Health Conference, which was held on September 8, 2012. The event featured Dr. Kenneth Munro Scott, a thoracic surgeon who spent his youth working as a missionary in the Koreas during the years following the Korean War. His missionary work in passing on teachings in medicine has left a lasting impact on the progress on medicine in Korea. His current organization, Christian Friends of Korea continues to reach out in philanthropy through medicine to North Korea.
Rear Admiral Dr. Kenneth Castro who is Director of the Division of Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination at the Center of Disease Control and Prevention also spoke on the current status of Tuberculosis in the United States and the world. He provided insight into the CDC's plan of elimination of Tuberculosis. To learn more about Dr. Castro's work, please visit his page here.
